Wanna be like Mike?

Scott Gomez is not Michael Nylander, but boy, is he wishing he were. He and Jagr are desperately trying to replicate the on-ice chemistry that the Czech shared with Nylander. However, with two players that similar in style it has been more difficult than perhaps the Rangers expected. So while they carpool to and from practice every day, trying to figure out a way for this to work, Nylander is doing fine in Washington and the New York Rangers are trying to forget the $10 million they pissed away.

Nylander should be a top candidate for this year's unsung hero trophy. Of course, there is no such prize but he'd be in the running every season if there were.

How many teams has he played for in his career? Close to ninety or something? He seems to do well everywhere he goes but no one wants him. Boy did he look good in black and gold a few years ago when he came over to Boston along with Gonchar. And he was a fan-favorite too. But Jacobs had to stick with the script so Nylander was sent packing with Rolston, Knuble, and everyone else who was at the productive end of the ledger.

Jag är ganska säker på att Gomez kommer igång och gör skäl för pengarna. Liksom hela Rangers. Kanske var nattens 2-0 seger startskottet?

bagis: Mycket tveksamt.

Nylander certainly has been a fan favorite in almost every town he's played. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for all the coaches he's played for. Most of them have not realized just how to best utilize his tremendous skills, matched only by a few in the NHL. The saddest thing is that the two years with the Rangers were his best ever with any team. Nylander scored 49 goals and 113 assists in that two-year span. This only proves the Rangers have fallen back on old habits and it will most certainly come back and bite them in the ass. Suits them well.
